A Fantastic Saturday

Mama, Kyla, and Smokey laze in bed to properly begin this Saturday morning.

Then Kyla had swimming lessons with Daddy.

After nap, she gets to play on the computer.

Then Her Drooliness is put on the floor. Without Daddy. Quite sad.

We head down for the Woodinville All Fool's Day festival and eat elephant ears.

Then, after dinner, Kyla needs her bath.
Night, night Kyla!

Playing

Mama got a new camera (after breaking the old one). Kyla's not sure if she likes another excuse to take dozens of pictures of her.

Well, maybe it's not so bad.

Solid Foods!

Kyla started eating "solid" foods on Thursday.
We first gave her the basic--rice cereal. She licked the bowl clean. Literally.

Tada! I'm really enjoying watching her learn how to eat. I bring the loaded spoon to her and she--with her left hand--grabs it and puts it in her mouth. Here, she's giving the carrots a bit of a break.

Sitting with Teddy

With only a little help from Teddy, Kyla is sitting up on her own. Wow, how she's grown!

Goofing Off at Bedtime

Kyla is holding on to the ottoman while she practices standing on her own. I'm sure this is just a forerunner to her streaking down the hall to avoid PJ's and bedtime!

Here, Kitty, Kitty...

Today, Kyla discovered that we live with cats. While she and I were lounging in the front porch sunshine, Smokey was feeling particularly affectionate. She rubbed against Kyla's chair for attention and Kyla held out her hands to pet the kitty, squealing in delight. Smokey actually came back a few more times! Desperate kitty, indeed.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, for I am 6 Months Old!

A cold carrot stick makes Kyla's "teeth" feel better. She drinks by allowing water to go into her mouth, and then tilting her chin down so that it all runs into her bib.
At her 6th month check up, Kyla was perfectly healthy, and weighed in at 16 pounds and 27 3/4 inches. (I think her height was measured inaccurately, as that would place her in the 90th percentile of height, while her weight is in the 50th percentile.)
